Hi, I’m Chloe.

I’m a designer, art director, animator, and editor based in northern Virginia.

About me

I am an editor at The Washington Post, where I help shape visual storytelling, with a focus on off-platform.

In my current role, I oversee the design of The Post’s social accounts by working closely with a team of designers to adapt The Post’s brand and content for off-platform. I also edit the design of other digital and print stories across the newsroom. Previously, I worked as a designer and art director. In that role, I designed the print newspaper, created illustrations and took on digital and branding projects across the newsroom. Before that, I spent three years on The Post’s Emerging News Products team, designing and animating journalism for The Washington Post and The Lily News on Snapchat Discover.

I have a B.S. in graphic design from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Most of my time as a student was spent at The Daily Orange, Syracuse’s independent student newspaper, where I designed, art directed and managed a design staff. My other work experience includes internships and freelance work for The Boston Globe, Sports Illustrated and Allure Magazine.

Awards & Recognitions

  • 2024: The Washington Post Instagram account was awarded a gold medal for social channel design.

  • 2024: The Washington Post Instagram won a Webby for best social account (news and politics).

  • 2023: The Washington Post’s Climate Instagram portfolio won a bronze medal, and the main account and Style account portfolios won awards of excellence. Our social coverage of The Eras Tour and of the Israel-Gaza war also received awards of excellence.

    2022: My art direction portfolio received an award of excellence.

    2020: The Lily’s Snapchat Discover portfolio won an award of excellence.

    2019: Six of my designs from The Lily's Snapchat Channel won Awards of Excellence, as well as The Post's Snapchat coverage of the 2020 Debates.

    2018: Three of my designs received Awards of Excellence. Snapchat team portfolio won a Silver Medal.

  • 2022: One of my sports pages won an award of excellence, and a sports cover that I illustrated won a silver medal.

  • 2017: Newhouse Scholars are chosen by the Newhouse awards committee for their superior academic accomplishments. I also received the 2017 Multimedia Photography and Design Department Prize for Excellence in Graphic Design.

  • 2017: Award given by the Society of News Design president for excellence in volunteerism

  • 2016: Award given to an outstanding student in news design by the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in partnership with the Society for News Design

  • 2016: First place Overall Design of a Special Section, Overall Photo Design, Special Section Cover in SSND. First place Sports Design and Special Section design in MSU SND.

When I’m not designing, you can usually find me curating Spotify playlists, planning my next vacation, or taking photos of my dog, Piper.
